CINEFOGO activities:
CINEFOGO activities consist of two main components: Programme for integrating Research Activities (PIRA) and Programme for Spread of Excellence (SoE). PIRA encompasses two types of activities: Integrating Research Activities and Jointly Executed Research. SoE includes Dialogue and Dissemination processes. The organizational structure is aimed at managing knowledge and making it accessible both for the scientific world and for the general public. It ensures that knowledge and competences will be multiplied both inside and outside of academia.
Through the implementation of the PIRA CINEFOGO will seek to minimize the barriers for integrated and coordinated research on European citizenship, multiple identities in Europe and the way these two topics relate to citizen participation in governance. In order to accomplish this goal there is a need to build new research capacity in European countries based upon the premise of collaboration in all aspects of the Network.
The Programme for SoE is the arena dedicated to building institutional capacity for dialogue between researchers, policy makers, public service institutions and organized civil society on the CINEFOGO core themes. SoE will ensure efficient and swift transmission of knowledge at high speed combining PIRA with an already established programme for SoE procedures based upon agreements with partners serving the public sphere and organized civil society.
Structure of CINEFOGO:
The structure of CINEFOGO is built on two levels – Consortium level and Implementation level. On the Consortium level there are Network Council, Network Management Board and Scientific Advisory Board. On the Implementation level there are 3 theme coordinators, 1 SoE coordinator and 23 work package coordinators. (If you want to see the structure of CINEFOGO, click here.)
Part 2. Project Activities with the Participation of BECSA
Kick-off conference of the project on 17-19 October 2005 at the Roskilde University – Denmark ( programme)
On 4-5 July 2008, BECSA organises a workshop in Koprivshtitsa in preparation of work on the theme "New Actors in a New Environment: EU Accession, Civil Society and Multi-Level Governance" ( rationale, participants, programme, photos).
